Starting without Hassles

Starting without Hassle

By Uncle Iche-Okoro Adi
‘Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.’ Psa 37:5

Every year people make promises and resolutions of what they would do better in the new year, than the previous years. But sometimes these resolutions are never accomplished because they are faulty even before they’re started. At times these resolutions are so vague that achieving them seem impossible or discouraging in the long run.
So how can you plan without hassle? Honestly, it’s never an easy task to compose, project, and commit to stated goals but as it’s generally stated, that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a step. Achieving small victories daily, monthly, quarterly can boost our confidence in achieving one’s annual goals.
Amongst others areas of life development (like emotional, academic, Health, financial and many others) is our Spiritual well-being, considered to be the core of human development. As a Christian teen, how can you improve your spiritual life without hassle in 2021? Here are some tips to help you:

Learn to Pray:

Prayer is a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God. When we learn to ask and thank God daily without ceasing we build our faith in trusting his ability to guide us through the year, ‘Pray without ceasing’1Th 5:17.. Only Jesus through the Holy Spirit can teach us to pray rightly.

Study the Bible:

Every profession and discipline proffers bodies of knowledge by scholars, waiting to be acquired by students. As Christian teens, the guiding principles, knowledge, and chart through life’s journey is the Bible. Through Bible study we become approved (qualified, equipped) to do God’s will and assignments. ‘’Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth’’. 2Ti 2:15

Use a Daily Devotional:

Devotional are daily doses of spiritual instructions and guide for you. It helps to reinforce your commitment, Bible reading, memorization and daily prayers. ‘’This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success’’. Jos 1:8

Be Active not Passive:

Being a member of a group guarantees a lot of security, cooperation, and purpose driven agendas. As a member of your fellowship, church, or group, learn to take part in collective activities. In being active, your break free from shyness, loneliness, boredom, fear and even depression; at the same time you exhibit your gifting, and strengths. Always remembering the bible’s instruction ‘Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching’. Heb 10:25

Be a Servant-Leader:

As you aspire to be the best and on top in your activities, the sure way of getting there is through serving. Jesus stated in Luk 22:26 ‘’But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve’’. So offering your time, gifts, resources to helping others, you automatically put yourself in leadership positions to exhibit God’s will like Joseph, Esther, and Daniel.

Share the Gospel:

Jesus’ last instruction was for us to preach the gospel to all nations. Telling people about our faith and God’s love for them, builds our confidence in seeing others follow God too. It makes us fully aware of our citizenship in God’s kingdom and alignment to God’s will. ‘’Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen’’. Mat 28:19-20

As instructed in Eph 6:11 ‘’Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil’’. a Christian teen who desires to make a difference must be well equipped and have fellowship with God by being born again. Asking God for forgiveness and believing by faith is the first step to spiritual possibilities. Remember Pro 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
